From the recording FORM & formless
This track was dedicated to a dear friend, “Corky” Matson, who introduced me to healing modalities that changed my life. The improvisation expresses the essence of this recording moving from form to formless. The bossa nova feel quickly transforms into a soundscape of vocal manipulations, gestures and expressions. There were no special effects or overdubs – all these vocal sounds happened in real time. John Stowell’s unique sound and ability to reach beyond harmonic limitations inspired my vocals that used distorted words, phrases and eventually became otherworldly.
